Astaro Partners With Seccom Global
Sydney, Australia September 30th 2009 - Astaro Corporation (www.astaro.com) a leading network security vendor, today announced a strategic partnership with Seccom Global, a leader in information security services with offices in Australia and the US.
The partnership will expand on an already successful relationship. Seccom Global currently offers Astaro as part of its product set focussed on high-grade online and network security for SMB and enterprises in Australia. As an extension to this agreement, Seccom Global will offer the full range of Astaro solutions and services including SecureLAN, SecureWan and SecureDR.
The primary focus of Seccom Global will be on the Astaro virtual offering, given the growing demand for “in the cloud” solutions. The company will also be facilitating MSSP services.
Seccom Global targets medium to large clients in the public and private sectors. It has a broad vertical focus in the private sector, and a track record in the public sector, particularly in health and education.
“We were attracted to Astaro because of its strong flexible virtualised product that enables customers to avoid hardware footprints” said Seccom Global CIO, Gavin Matthews. “We saw strengths in Astaro’s virtual firewall as well as its HTTPS Proxy Filtering, which allows users to filter and control secure Web traffic and helps to prevent attacks from SSL tunnelling.”
“With the addition of Astaro solutions, our clients now have a broader choice of technologies and platforms. It will allow Seccom Global to service a broader market and offer more flexibility for our channel partners” said Matthews.
Astaro also sees Seccom Global as a good ‘fit’ for its expansion plans for Australia.
“Seccom Global is a recognised leader in the information security market,” said Guy Coles, vice president Astaro APAC and Japan. “Effective information security measures can increase productivity for an organisation as well as protect its networks from malicious content and materials.”
Astaro protects over 100,000 networks for 47,000 customers across 60 countries. Product lines include the Astaro Security Gateway, Astaro Mail Gateway and the Astaro Web Gateway which simplify email, web and network protection, along with a variety of management tools that support Gateway products through centralised management and reporting facilities.
Astaro and Seccom Global are in talks with a number of potential customers, while joint marketing efforts are in the planning stages. However, both companies are sure of what the partnership will bring to the table. “Astaro and Seccom Global, together, will provide comprehensive and unrivalled security services for organisations throughout Australia,” says Coles. “We expect to see significant revenue increases and organisational growth for both companies.”
