According to Seccom’s Chief Information Officer, Gavin Matthews, the company expanded its client base by 24 per cent over the past year.
Matthews said: “We are confident of bettering that growth during the coming year, as we expand our expertise further into the cloud computing space. Over the coming month we will be announcing a number of partnerships with leaders in this technology.”
According to Gartner’s report: “As an aggregate, the MSSPs responding to Gartner's survey (including those not evaluated in the MarketScope) reported a 16 per cent growth in the total number of clients for MSS. They also reported a total of nearly 23,000 devices under management (in the cloud and customer premises equipment), which represents a growth of 24 per cent over last year's total of approximately 18,500 devices under management.”
“The average growth in the number of clients reported by MSSPs was 19 per cent (it should be noted that two major vendors did not provide detailed data concerning changes in the size of their client bases). The largest percentage growth in client base was reported by the MSSPs that operate as general system integrators, with pure-play security providers in second place and telecommunications/WAN providers last.”
The report added: “Given the current economic situation, Gartner predicts that MSSPs active in the region will continue to gain new customers through 2010, although at a slightly slower rate (about 17 per cent). Incremental revenue from these new customers may be reduced as pricing of services is adjusted to accommodate reduced IT budgets in client organisations.”
